PANUG/BIZNIX ON IRC

When we announced that PANUG and BizNix were running a
Jabber server for instant messaging between members,
several people had difficulty getting connected - this
due to Jabber clients being so new and different from
one another. To solve this problem, we've implemented
a more primitive form of instant messaging - good old
IRC. Setting up an IRC client is easier and getting
connected should be easier.

IRC clients are normally installed with Linux and
Windows users can download any of several. Once
your IRC client is running, you'll have to connect
to our server (im.alcpress.com), which means adding
a new server to your list of servers. There's no
password to access the server.

Once connected, just type "/join #panug" or
"/join #biznix".

You'll see a list of users that are connected to the
chat room but IRC has no notion of presence. This means
that these users may or may not be sitting in front
of their computers watching what you type. So, type
your message and see if you get a response. If not,
stay connected and come back later to see if anyone
has answered.

EXCHANGE 2000 WON'T RUN ON WINDOWS SERVER 2003
