SPAM VIA NETBIOS

Emy Loanzon writes that SPAM has entered a new realm - that
of posing as an admin or system alert pop-up message."We
have been seeing a lot of these annoying messages in our
campus, selling university diplomas." This is spam that
is not delivered by conventional means - by email or Web
browsers. These spammers send directly to the Windows
messaging service via NetBIOS ports. While the article
focuses on spam, this can be exploitd by attackers.
Fortunately, this is easily blocked by firewalls.
