NEWS Free GroupWare A German Federal government agency has awarded a contract for development of Open Source groupware client and server software. The German government is paying for the development because they want it right now. The timeline demands that existing software be used. The software must work in a heterogenous environment and provide email, contacts, appointments, and tasks lists. Server components include OpenLDAP, Cyrus IMAP, and Postfix running on any compatible operating system. These components work well together right now. Components of the KDE office suite were chosen for the client side. The software will be based on KMail, KOrganizer, and other KDE components.
