Meeting times
- 6:00 - Food & Refreshments - Enjoy food and refreshments and network with fellow
professionals.
- 6:15 - Questions & Answers - Bring your questions and get
answers from a room full of experts.
- 7:00 - Main presentation - Presentation topics are announced a week or two in advance via email.
Tips for Presenters
- Since you have a limited amount of time, maximize the amount of information you can present in that time.
- Have everything worked out in advance. If you're doing a demonstration with computer
equipment, work out the details of the demo in advance and actually try it first.
- Focus more on your product and less on your company details. Unless your company story is
particularly interesting, cover this quickly and get on with the product-related information.
- Remember that you can handout information or refer people to your web site for details that
don't need to be covered during your presentation.
- If you're using a PowerPoint presentation that has been created by someone else, learn the
contents beforehand. It wastes time if you have to continually read what's on the screen. If
you don't wish to cover some of the slides, remove them from the presentation beforehand. If
you disagree with any of the information on the slides, change it in advance.
- If you wish to handout paper copies of the PowerPoint presentation please be sure that we
can actually read it. The information that you handout does not necessarily need to be in the
same format as the slides. If you have a dark background with yellow lettering and your company
logo in the corner of every slide, there's no need to have this on the paper handout. Consider
saving your presentation in a RTF format that you can then read in to a word processor. The
word processor gives you better control over the format of your handout.
- Contact Ed at 503-635-6370 if you need to ship items to PANUG in advance of the
meeting.
